After a glorious few months of sunshine, our members at Willow Valley had to deal with heavy rain while competing this weekend! Medal 8 was the competition on Saturday and we still had some very solid scoring considering the conditions. George Parkinson won Division 1 with a nett 69. Junior member, Habib Khan missed out by a single shot finishing with a nett 70. In Division 2, Phil Narey returned a score of nett 71 to win convincingly. Ryan Lee-Haigh finished a distant second with a nett 74.
Sunday brought the really testing conditions with steady rain all day. At least it was back to stableford format to make things slightly easier for the competitors. In Division 1, Richard Thornton scored 34 points which was good enough to take 1st place by 2 points from Scott Smith who returned 32 points. The scoring in Division 2 was much better with George Edmondson scoring 38 points in the challenging conditions. Runner up to George by a single point was Michael Hall on 37.
