The golf courses total 50 holes here’s a breakdown of them

Willow Valley

Our premier course and host of the Yorkshire P.G.A. Championship. Designed to challenge the skill of the most experienced golfer, it is truly a masterpiece. Built to U.S.G.A. standards, the course is guarded by water on 11 of its 18 holes making the design unique in this fine golfing region. Water, a rock face, and a bunker guard the green on the 6th hole making it difficult to get near the pin, whilst the island green on the 14th hole has the golfer deciding whether to lay up or go for it in regulation. As well as the water, numerous bunkers and strategically placed trees make this a most interesting and picturesque course.

You are advised to allow between 4 and 5 hours to play the course.

Pine Valley

This course will be of interest to golfers of all abilities. This is our latest addition to the facility and is an 18-hole course, measuring 5154 yards off the competition tees. It offers a modern design with large, undulating U.S.G.A. Greens that have been designed to allow players to run the ball onto them rather than having to fly the ball through the air. This allows the more imaginative golfers to play a wide variety of approach shots to the flag. There is much less emphasis on the golfer’s ability to get the ball airborne for long distances and is therefore less punishing for the beginner. There are lakes and bunkers, though they are placed to catch the very wayward shot, leaving a much greater margin for error in comparison to our Willow Valley Course.

The 6th is its signature hole with three options of playing towards the green. A “risk and reward” par 4 with a green that can be driven from the tee, though water lurks to catch the ball which doesn’t carry the full distance of 260 yards. Play around the water to the green, with a long iron or wood leaving a short pitch to the flag without having to play over the lake. Or the third option is to hit a mid iron towards and short of the water and leave you a fuller shot over the lake into the flag.

You are advised to allow between 3 and 4 hours to play the course.

Fountain Ridge

The oldest of our courses, built in 1992 to the same U.S.G.A. standards as the Willow Valley & Pine Valley Courses, this 9 hole course has six par 3 and three par 4 holes and is ideal for those not yet proficient enough for the challenge of Willow Valley, as a warm up for one of the 18 hole courses or just for golfers with less time to spare.

You are advised to allow between 1½ and 2 hours to play the course.

Other Facilities

At Willow Valley Golf we are continually updating and expanding our facilities. Our aim is to provide “golf for all” which means all standards, all ages, and all genders.

Our doors are open to the public to provide beginners access to a facility where they can develop and prepare for the challenge of a game out on the golf course.   We provide golf tuition, equipment, repairs, practice facilities, buggies and a quality bar/restaurant with fresh home made cooking.

The 24 bay covered and modern outdoor floodlit all-weather driving range has a pleasant viewing area enabling golfers to bring family and friends along to spectate in comfortable surroundings. Practice Balls can be purchased from the shop and are discounted for members using their Levy card.

We have a designated grass practice area with three target greens, a putting area, and a practice bunker.

Most importantly, we want you to enjoy your golf and the facilities. If we can be of further help, please do not hesitate to ask any member of staff, give us a call or send an e-mail. For all members on-line we are now regularly emailing you with deals and up to date news regarding the club.
